I think it's this essay where it's evident that I've begun to hit my stride with academic writing, which is kind of impressive to me considering there's about a week between this writing and the last one. I suppose it helps that one of the sources really tapped into my interest in feminism, what it means to be gender nonconforming, and the ways in which religion finds its way into everyday life whether a person is religious themselves or not. I have a lot of love for this essay. (Though it's worth noting that I need to figure out how to fix that left border, since it doesn't seem to like longer writings.)

This essay was written in 2024 for the first Religious Studies course I took for my Bachelor's program, "REL101: Religion, Culture, and Public Life" instructed by Professor Tod Swanson at Arizona State University. There's a bit more on the premise and prompt if you follow the link. This was also early into a return to academic-style writing, so (in my opinion) it's a bit rough around the edges.

This short essay is one I wrote back when I was intending on posting to substack much more than I actually would come to. As much as I'd like to write on it more, I struggle to write about anything without a lot of motivation or an adequate-enough prompt. That I've been writing a book is honestly miraculous. Most of my writing aside from it has been essays for school assignments, and not much else. Maybe my infodumping to friends counts too, but that's much more casual an affair than this so... I'm not counting it, personally.
